What is IEEE RAS?

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society is a global network of people pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in robotics and automation. From cutting-edge research and intelligent machines to real-world industrial solutions, RAS connects over 14,000 members worldwide who are making a difference in this rapidly growing field.

RAS supports innovation by organizing top-tier conferences, publishing leading journals, developing technical standards, and encouraging collaboration across disciplines. Whether autonomous systems, human-robot interaction, AI in robotics, or smart manufacturing, RAS is at the forefront.

Here in Germany, we’re proud to be part of this global effort. The IEEE RAS Germany Chapter brings together experts and enthusiasts from across the country to share ideas, learn from each other, and work on exciting projects.

We aim to:

• Build a strong network of robotics professionals, academics, and students

• Host talks, workshops, and hands-on events

• Promote student involvement through mentoring and competitions

• Encourage collaboration between universities, research centers, and industry

Germany is known for its world-class engineering, and we want to make sure the robotics and automation community here stays connected, inspired, and moving forward.
