This workshop will focus on teaching activities that foster interdisciplinary teamwork experiences. We will talk about the advantages and lessons learned in interdisciplinary courses taught at the School of Engineering and Design, Technical University of Munich in collaboration with other universities. The role of learning platforms and asynchronous teaching (towards new learning), as well as the integration of open-source computational simulation tools and their development will be presented as key parts of a functional and successful learning environment. Challenge based learning will be presented for two exemplary course layouts, their projects and alternative examinations. Apart from the presentation, there will be room for sharing experiences as well as exchanging and developing ideas and strategies for future teaching formats.
