Distinguished Microwave Lecturer Robert H. Caverly presents "RF Aspects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging“

Following an invitation of the MTT/AP Joint Chapter, Prof. Robert H. Caverly from the Villanova University Pennsylvania, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has visited the IEEE Germany Section at selected locations in Bochum, Ulm and Wachtberg.

In the presence of several local IEEE members and guests, Prof. Caverly presented results of his research in the field of transmit and receive RF systems and coils that make up MRI scanners. After giving an high-level overview, the talk narrowed in scope to look at how these RF coils are modeled and controlled in both transmit and receive states and how these components are used for transmit/receive switching and patient and equipment protection.
